We are delighted that Karen Faust Baer has returned as the rehearsal accompanist and resident pianist for the Mineola Choral Society. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Karen enjoys a multifaceted career in solo piano performance, choral conductor, accompanist and pedagogue. She made her Carnegie Hall debut with the American Symphony Orchestra and her international debut at the Todi Music Festival in Italy. In recent years, Karen has appeared as soloist with the South Shore Symphony performing concerti by Beethoven, Chopin and Gershwin. She has accompanied numerous choruses on Long Island and had been the accompanist for the New York All-State Choirs for over 25 years.

As half of the Nelson-Baer duo, a two piano and duet team, her fingers have graced the stages of the Juilliard School, Hofstra University, Kingsborough College, the Heckscher Museum, the Gold Auditorium and several libraries in the metropolitan area. Their multi-media presentations have been heard across the U.S.

Ms. Faust Baer has served on the faculties of SUNY Purchase, NYU, and Adelphi University as well as adjudicator for the Friday Music Club Competition, the Piano Teachers’ Guild, and NYSSMA.  Formerly, she was both International Baccalaureate instructor and vocal music director at South Side High School, Rockville Centre for over thirty years. She is continuing her association with the state as a Nassau Boces Performing Artist .
