MCS 2023 Scholarship Award

Each year since 2001, we proudly present the Mineola Choral Society Peter J. Haller Vocal Music Excellence Award to a graduating Mineola High School student who demonstrates talent in vocal performance and plans to continue their musical education. The 2023 winner of the $1,500 scholarship is Alexis Panebianco. Alexis demonstrated excellence across all dimensions of music-making. She is highly literate, plays multiple instruments, makes thoughtful, artistic decisions, and can hold the attention of crowd. This fall, she began studies for her degree in music education at Hofstra University.

Sing, Sing, Sing!

Join us for our exciting spring concert—a nostalgic celebration in two parts. First, we'll travel through various stages of our lives— including infancy, childhood and aging—with composers Erik Essenvalds, Only in Sleep, Randall Thompson, Frostiana, and Carol Hall, Jenny Rebecca. Then, we'll take you back to the jazz, Broadway and big band eras of the 30s, 40s and 50s through the music of Stephen Zegree, God Bless the Child, Frank Loesser, Guys and Dolls medley, and Louis Prima, Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing).
